Verizon: A bad choice for DSL
In the area where I live, I'm unable to get cable Internet, so I went with DSL as I didn't want to use my apartment complexes wireless signal. From the beginning, I should have known Verizon was a bad choice for DSL. I clearly stated my address including apartment number on their order form and they didn't include my apartment number on my order that shipped, so it delayed my DSL service about 4 days. Last month I got an email stating that they were having problems charging my credit card on file, so I updated my billing information. At that point, they were done attempting to charge it and didn't try again. Last Friday (yes, Friday the 13th) I attempted to use the Internet after getting home from work and discovered that I didn't have an Internet connection. After experiencing connectivity issues the previous night, I decided to call Verizon to see what's going on. The tech support rep told me my account had been disabled and service disconnected. I had to wait until this morning to call customer service as they were closed when I called tech support. The customer service rep told me when I updated my billing info it was too late and they sent also me a notice via postal mail, which I never received, and if I wanted my service turned back on I'd need to place another order with sales. What company shuts your service off without notice and makes you go through the trouble of placing another order to have it re-activated? Verizon does. Imagine if they ran a utility company such as electricity and you forgot to pay your bill. You'd know right away when your service was disconnected without notice and you had to place another sales order to get it turned on.

Hi,
They haven't changed.
And, yes they do run a utility; the phone company.
From a support aspect they are also a bad choice for phones.
You might watch an old movie: "The President's Analyst". It has a whole thing in it about the phone company.
