Outlook 2007

written by Ryan Olshan on Friday, November 17 2006

I installed Office 2007 Professional RTM a couple of days ago. I've noticed that while Outlook 2007 is receiving email in the background it slows down my computer to the point that it freezes and sometimes beeps at me. I have 2GB of RAM and a duo core processor. It has got so bad that I have to put it in Offline mode and occasionally click Send / Receive. Is anybody else having issues with Office 2007, specifically Outlook 2007?

At least I'm not the only person out there having issues. I found one solution: Uninstall Office 2007 and re-install Office 2003.

MS seriously need to address this problem. The number of people with problems on outlook 2007 is serious and the problems are rather fundemental. They can't use faster technology as an excuse for heavier / slower / more problematic software.

Outlook 2007 pauses my whole system in various points, from send recieve to changing folders (i have a 2gig pst) but it's rediculous and unaccaptable.

    Sort it out.
