Fun Trip
I arrived in Virginia today and it was one fun trip. I was traveling with my cat and left at 10:00 AM PDT for John Wayne airport. My flight left on time and was headed for a stop-over in Minneapolis, MN. However, as the flight got ~30 minutes from Minneapolis, a thunder storm had already started with 60 MPH winds, hail, and it knocked down trees and power lines. There wasn't enough fuel on board to circle the Minneapolis airport and wait for clearance to land, so the plane stopped in Duluth to refuel. Two or so hours later we were off once again for Minneapolis. By the time I got there, my connecting flight to DC had already left on time an hour or so before I arrived. The airline booked me on a flight that would leave the next day sometime after 10 AM CDT. After a while I started worrying about my cat and how she was sedated, in a carrier, and hadn't been to the bathroom since I left yesterday morning. So, I went to the ticket counter and played the cat bit and got a flight to Detroit, MI, which was supposed to leave at 10:40 PM CDT, but didn't leave until 11:40 PM. I got to Detroit after 2:00 AM EDT. Luckily, there was somebody else waiting at the same gate that I was scheduled to depart from and I played Uno and watched DVDs with them. Most importantly of all the cat and I arrived in Virginia safely at 6:57 AM EDT. To top everything off, they ended up sending my luggage to Dulles instead of Regan airport, so I'm now waiting for them to drop it off.
UPDATE: My luggage finally arrived.

Welcome to the mid-Atlantic! Summer decided to kick in to celebrate your arrival :-) Hopefully your luggage and the rest of your belongings also make the trip successfully.

Way to overshoot Texas by half the country!
I'm glad you made it; have fun on the opposite coast.

I hope you may find the force/source to get things rolling over there. Nice to hear your cat also survived the trip :-).
I wish you all the luck in your new job Ryan, have fun!
Grz, Kris.
